The Gingerbread Man

The Gingerbread Man is a stop-motion TV series which ran from April 24, 1992. The ending date is unknown. It is based on a musical of the same name by David Wood. David Wood is an actor for TV shows such as Z Cars, Fathers and Sons and Jackanory.

This show only had 13 episodes, it is about the Gingerbread Man and his friends. Every night, they come alive in the kitchen when humans are asleep.

After watching a few episodes, I think this series is really charming, The stop-motion looks really good and I really want to eat the gingerbread man! I wonder if some of the props (such as the sugar and flower) were real, they certainly look real!

My only problem with the series is that the dark lighting in every episode gets really annoying (I know it’s set at night, but can’t they turn a light on?). Some of the character voices are very dull and boring (especially the Gingerbread Man.

You can watch the first episode here (thanks to DHX Retro TV UK):
