New Show Alert: Scream Street

Scream Street is a new stop-motion series based on the books of the same name by Tommy Donbavand. In our interview with Ben Ward, he announced that he would be a writer on the series, and Giles Pilbrow will be the head writer.

The synopsis is:

When the Government Housing of Unusual Lifeforms (G.H.O.U.L.) gets wind of Luke’s hairy habit, they transfer him and his parents to Scream Street – where surfer-dude zombies, sarcastic vampires, martial arts mummies, glamorous witches and just plain-bad monsters put a whole new spin on community spirit. The fast, furious stories are packed full of horror and humour delivered with warmth and heart – even if some of those hearts have stopped beating!

We also know some of the voice actors (but not the characters):

Tyger-Drew Honey (Outnumbered, Friday Download)
Tala Gouveia (Eastenders)
Rasmus Hardiker (Thunderbirds Are Go, Danger Mouse)
John Thomson (Bill and Ben, Men Behaving Badly)
Debra Stephenson (Coronation Street, Zig and Zag)
Jim Howick (Horrible Histories, Yonderland, Bill)

We also have a synopsis for the first episode:

Luke’s love for cutting corners gets him into serious trouble when a quick-fix solution to tidying his room, using some of Eefa’s magic cleaning powder, ends up putting the whole of Scream Street in danger.

Otto finds out about the magic powder and tries to steal it, but as Luke attempts to get it back there’s a big spillage, meaning the vacuum cleaner is no longer just a machine, but a living machine monster! Can it be stopped before it sucks up the entire town?
